Dr. Procopio, originally from Catanzaro, Italy, earned her dental degree with honors from the University of Messina in 1992. She furthered her education at the University of Bologna in 1993. In 1998, she relocated to San Francisco and graduated from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in 2001. After practicing in San Francisco for two years, she settled in Walnut Creek in 2003, where she resides with her husband and two daughters.
Dr. Procopio, certified in dental implant surgery by Dr. Lawrence Lum at the Dental Implant Institute in 2004, continues to advance her expertise through ongoing training. With extensive experience, she has successfully completed hundreds of implant cases in our practice.
Dr. Matthew Vakili grew up in the San Jose area. His pursuit of dentistry brought him to Boston, where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in 2014. He then continued his dental education at the AEGD Program at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Augusta, ME. Upon returning to California in 2015, Dr. Vakili began practicing in his hometown.
Dr. Vakili’s goal as a dentist is to educate his patients and get them involved in their own oral health care. He loves the technical aspects of dentistry and enjoys sharing these ideas with his patients. With the use of visual imagery and thorough explanations and dialogue, he enjoys helping to create treatment plans that are patient-focused. He has found that this method really helps patients understand and engage in taking care of their oral health needs. Through constant continuing education, Dr. Vakili likes to stay up-to-date on improvements in dental materials and treatment modalities. His goal is to provide predictable, long lasting dentistry to all of the patients he has the privilege of serving.
In his spare time Dr. Vakili enjoys hiking, traveling, working out, and tinkering on his project car. He considers himself a fairly avid traveler and has a goal of visiting at least one hundred countries. He concedes that he is just shy of having visited forty countries so far. On his travels, he thoroughly enjoys learning about new cultures and their customs.
